Hmmm, what would you like to see changed in Humanities class? How could things be arranged so that you’re happier, more comfortable, and, of course, learning better!

I was wondering if we could change seats more often. Sometimes you get stuck with people you don’t get along with, and you don’t want to come to humanities because of it.

I agree with “anonymous” I really want to switch seats.
Dear anonymous/someone:
I hear what you’re saying. We’ll change seats soon. In life you’ll often have to find ways to work with other people you find difficult, but I agree that it is time to come up with a new seating plan.
I have a suggestion. This may not occur during our school year, but it may improve next year’s class. I was reading the book, “Freakonomics,” and it related to consumer economics, which is what we are studying now. I do not know if the book is really appropriate for Grade 8, but this is just a thought. Next year’s class could study this book with the unit.
I agree with Mr. Romary and Anonymous/ Someone:
In life you really have to accept and work with many different kinds of people but it should not interrupt learning, and it is really a long time since we last switched seats (about one to two months I think)
Here’s the new seating plan. I hope you can remember your number!

When will we start on reading ‘Waiting for the rain’?
Mr. Romary, I really like the seating arrangement. I like it because I am sitting next to poeple who I like to talk to. I hope everybody else likes the seating arrangement as much as I do.
My seating arrangement is not as good as anonymous’. However, I understand that we just changed seats, and that I’ll have to wait until the next seating change!
Commenting on the anonymous that is satisfied with the seating arrangement, I must say that the whole point of a class seating arrangement is for you to not be distracted by Mr. Romary’s so-called “Gorillas in the room”. Therefore it is actually better if you are at a place where you do not talk with others.
Well, I guess I have to hope that next time I get a better seat
Hello dude: Well, it is always impossible to make everyone happy, but I’m glad you realize that it’s not forever! Take a look in quotations as there’s a bit of a discussion there about “Love thy neighbour”.
Hello!! One thing i would like to say is that, for vocabulary, Mr. Romary, can you please post the document (prefix/suffix/root) of the hand out you gave us on the first day that you assigned vocabulary??
Hello Mimi,
The document you’re looking for is actually on the website. See http://www.isb.ac.th/Stephen_ROMARY and the file is called “weekly_vocabulary.doc”. It is on the right hand side of the page, under the picture, at the bottom of the list. Is this the file you are thinking about?
Can we have a “Movie Section” like Mr. Kenney’s blog?
emm. . .
Mr. Romary, I don’t really think the poem blog is a good idea. Nobody has blogged anything on it yet, and I don’t really think much people like it. . .
Just a suggestion:)
yes it is…thnx!!!
Hi!! Can you please post the websites for prefixes and suffixes that used to be up on your isb.ac.th/Stephen_romary website?? thanks.
Okay Mimi - the links are back on the website. Also, here they are for quick reference:
