Books to Buy….

List here any good books you know of that we should add to the classroom library:

For example:

Tomorrow When the War Began,
by John Marsden.

Greta was back at school today and she recommended this title. It’s an action/adventure kind of story, and it is the first book in a series of seven.

hey Mr. Romary, I think that my title lit circles gone wild is a good idea! So maybe you could use my idea. Also Ms. Mkeown thought that it was a good idea too!

‘Mas en Books’ is also a good title i think, because Mas means More in spanish and en means ‘in’ in spanish, and books is from English.

Book Name: For One More Day
Book Author: Mitch Albom
Book Genre: Spirtiul
Blurb:
This is Mitch Albom’s third major popular book, I believe. I don’t think they sell it at the library yet, because it’s still new.
This book is about a man who wanted to commit suiside because he thought he made too many mistakes in life. For his first attempt he tryed getting in a car accident, which left him harmed but not killed, so he trys other ways, one of the ways “knocks him out” I guess…he meets his mom. But, his mom has been dead for quite a while. The story goes on about his life struggles and his final day “with” his mom. I think anyone who likes books by Mitch Albom will like this book. The man who got to spend one more day with his mom said, “I don’t care if you don’t believe me, this is true.” I own the book, If you want to read it just tell me!

Book Title: The Angels Trilogy

Well its three books in one

Author: Lurlene McDaniel
Genre: Realistic/romance/maybe a little spiritual
Blurb:
About an English girl and an Amish boy( you’ll find out what that is if you read the book) who fall in love but go through life obstacles with many family problems and sicknesses.

A very sensitive and heart-warming book.

I personally think that it’s a very good book, girls might find it more interesting then guys.

P.S. Sherrie…they don’t sell books at the library. Hehe. Sounds good though♥

Title: Redwall
Author: Brian Jacques
Genre: Fantasy
Blurb: An abbey of peaceful mice has come under the attack by a horde of sea rats. Will they be able to stop them?

Although my blurb may not sound very interesting, the book certainly is, filled with adventure, humor, and the right amount of seriousness to make this book a pleasure to read. If you are a fan of fantasy, I recommend this highly.

*Note* This book is also a good book if you want to see the Hero’s Journey, because it is pretty easy to identify the parts of the Hero’s Journey in this book.

Title: Pendragon (it’s a series)
Author: D.J. MacHale
Genre: Fantasy
Blurb: Pendragon and his friends must stop an evil person, Saint Dane from destroying everything that existed!!

Note: I noe my blurb sounds pretty boring, but try it it’s good. And yes it does relate to the hero’s journey.

Has anyone ever read The Alchemist. It is a very good book. It is about an Andalusion shephard that goes on a journey in the sahara desert with an Alchemist. This story is very inspiring.
