What did you think of the trip?

The treking was bad, because at first, the instructor said we only have to walk about 5km on the road. So I though it was really easy so I chose to do treking for fun. But we walked about 20km! and it wasn’t on the road, it was on the mountains. We walked over three mountains and it was really hard. So many rocks, etc.
The train was good because I had some chances to talk to someone I didn’t talk before and I made so many good friends so it was memorable.
I thought the Chiang Mai trip was really fun. I thought the best part was the over-night village trek and rafting. Everything was fun for that activity except for the 10 kilometer trek. I thought this activity was an ultimate adventure. Another part that was fun on this trip was the train. I thought the sliding doors were scary because I was afraid that it was going to close on me. Through out the whole trip, that happened only once.
I thin the trip was great. I did rock climbing (includes caves) and hilltribe (overnight). Rock climbing was really awesome. At first, I was so scared because it was hard to find some rocks to put my feet. Also, when I look down, it was high for me. (I’m afraid of height.) But when I’ve done it, I felt great. It made me feel like I can do the harder ones. The guides were funny and nice, so I really enjoyed spending time there. For the hilltribe, overall, it was good. I didn’t know I had to hike that much though. We hiked about 5 hours on mountains. I think I’ve never walked that much in my whole life. Seriously, I was so tired. I think it would be better if we could just rest a bit more when we hike. But when we were at the village, it was fun. I think I enjoyed spending time on the train and rock climbing. Even though the train was a bit dirty, it was a lot of fun. It seemed like the trip was shorter than I expected.
I really enjoyed the trip to Chiang Mai. I gained many new experiences over the course of the trip, and ultimately that was something I wanted from the trip. I thought the trip went by fast, but the length was good for me. The PREM Center was a nice place stay but the food was bad. The food outside the PREM was ok, but there should be some American food too, not just Thai food only. The train was very fun being able t go between cars and visit all the other kids. The beds on the train were pretty good. I got a good oppurtunity to socialize with friends and other kids. My activities were pretty good but there were better ones I wish I had done. The waterfalls were beautiful and refreshing but the botanical gardens were just okay. My overnight trip at the hilltribe had goods and bads, but overall was a good experience. The hike was long and tiring but it made me happy. The campfire and rafting were fun and relaxing. Deep down, I had a lot of fun in Chaing Mai and didn’t feel like I was doing too much work. This trip gave me a good feeling of group travel. Lastly, the nature in Chiang Mai is great.
Chiang Mai was an awesome trip. What I saw from last year Chiang Mai was way more fun than Korat. I liked how we had a choice to choose what activities we want to do. I did rock climbing on Tuesday afternoon and then I did the overnight hill tribe. They were both really fun. They were all things I did for the first time so it was quite fun. The train was okay I liked the doors the most because they were tricky and some teachers kept on closing them when u would pass by. I really enjoyed it and the trip was a lot of fun.
This year’s trip to Chaing Mai was a memorable experience. I learned many things and expanded friendships. The PREM centre was a very nice place and we are very lucky to be able to stay in such a facility. The food overall was good because it was all mainly Thai, it was a nice change from eating the European and American food back at home. All the activities were good fun, especially the elephant sanctuary. Also, the train ride to and from Bangkok was an unforgettable experience, for I have never been in a train for 12 hours straight in Thailand. If I were to rate this trip I would give it an 8 out of a 10.
Chiang Mai was the funnest trip in MS. The white water rafting was funny and awesome. I believe we had to go 5km or something. I wish we could do that longer and have bigger water rapids; bigger and more. The mud fight during elephant sancuary was fun. I stuffed mud down my friend’s shirt. The train ride was random for me. We did all sorts of crazy things like daring ourselves to do dares. One of the doors went crazy and closed the second it opened. It was scary and many of my friends screamed. Overall, it was a great experience.
Chiang Mai was a very fun trip and it is the best of all in middle school. The best part of the trip for me was the overnight activity-hill tribe, trek. Having to trek for 10 km was challenging but it was fun and worthwhile. It seemed like we were on an adventure without an ending. I also enjoyed the train ride. The sliding doors scared me most; not mentioning about the cockroaches. Throughout the whole trip, the door closed on me only once, which was a good thing. Like Kayla said, this was a great experience overall.
The most exciting part of my trip was to kayak for 5km to the house boat which was located deep in the valley. Kayaking was a new experience for me and I found I really liked it, so I hope I can go back and do it again. The other activity I enjoyed was the Mae S. Waterfall. The water was beautiful and freezing cold! My friends and i took about 20 minutes just to cross from one tier to another. We wanted to challenge ourselves by climbing up the rocks and not using the pathway to the tier. The Train ride to Chiang Mai was a lot of fun because a group of us just sat and enjoyed talking and eating with one another. All and all I thought this was a great 8th grade trip.
This trip was memorable and fun. I got to try things I’ve never done before, like mixing elephant poop with mud and getting hurt by the train doors. It was a good experience. I think this year’s trip is the best so far because we had a lot more time to hang out with friends. I really enjoyed the train ride. I talked to people I never got to talk to at school and made some new friends. It was fun getting closed on by the doors even though it hurt. My friends and I had some good laughs out of that.
The trip to Chiang Mai was a great experience. The activities were actually fun then I thought it would be. The gardens and the waterfalls were I guess fine, but it was very hot at the gardens and we stayed too long at the waterfalls. The train ride home made me think more about the cockroaches, which had a problem on the way to Chiang Mai, luckily they haven’t come for me. The door on the train was very scary. Whenever my friend and I pass through we would scream! Eventually it closed on me only once. Overall the trip was very fun.
I think that the Chang Mai trip was really net-o. There was nothing bad about the trip. I would stick with the same thing next year too. If had to change something I would change the amount time we were waiting, we waited way to long for things to happen.
I echo the sentiments of many when I say that a big thanks to the teachers is in order here. Great job guys!
The trip in itself was a very enjoyable experience. Personally, I’m amazed by the logistics and planning that’s involved with moving so many people in so many different activities. The coordination must be unbelievable.
The train ride was something of a novelty in itself. Never having been on a train for a substantial amount of time, I enjoyed getting to spend time with all my friends in a fairly open environment, relaxing and reading, and I even cracked a smile when the doors shut on me four or five times.
While I would have preferred the Ritz Carlton, the dorm-like feel of the Prem Center “houses” was, again, a very new and enjoyable experience. While I’m fairly certain I don’t want to try it again, trying to maintain order in a place with flying footballs and screaming teenagers was a challenge in itself.
I could probably go on and on about the trip, but I’d feel badly about clogging up the little bandwidth available in Thailand, so I’m just going to say that this was a fantastic event and a big kudos to the teachers who organized it!
On winter break, I went to Chiang Mai for 3 days, and I thought that it was the most boring trip I have ever been on. For our class trip, it turned out to be more fun, because I was with friends. The tree planting activity was kinda boring, but it actually seemed better with someone you know. This trip was partially rough because of the Hill Tribe 10k hike that was mostly uphill (it took around 5 hours), and the same night we could not get any sleep due to the noisy pigs, cows, roosters, and the dogs fighting at 2 a.m. The bamboo rafting the next morning was cool, except it took as long as the hike! When I came back from the trip, I found that I had become a different person, and I also found that I was taller than my mom. All in all, this was a pretty neat class trip.
After going on the great trip to Chiang Mai, I think everybody’s personality changed a little bit. Me, personally, I can understand things better, like when I went to the elephant sanctuary, I found out that the elephants were treated to badly and I understood that they are also like people and needed to be treated well. I also learnt that the wooden benches on their backs are bad for them because it will deform their spinal cord. So overall, it was a good trip and I enjoyed it. I agree with Abel, I too would rate this trip an 8 out of 10.
Chiang Mai was the best trip of the whole middle school. My activities in Chiang Mai was garden/waterfall and the overnight trip at the houseboat. I thought the kayaking at the houseboat was really fun. I liked it a lot even though it was exceedingly tiring. I also enjoyed the waterfall and the train ride. I like the waterfall because the water was really fresh and cold. It felt good. And i enjoyed the train ride because i got to have some time with my friends and also got to meet new people. Overall this was a great trip.
Chiang Mai trip was the best of the middle school trip for me. I’ve been there before from the other school and it was quite boring, but this one was really exciting. The most exciting activity that I did was the Water Rafting, because we splashed the water with each other.
An unforgettable event took place at the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar or as I like to call it, the Night Bizarre. At first glance, the Night Bazaar looked like any other market such as those found in Bangkok and in many ways it was, but not entirely. Many street vendors wandered the market urging us to buy everything from hand made jewelry to pirated DVDs. I must admit I felt extremely uncomfortable and out of place among the many tourists and native Thai’s who covered every inch of the market. Along with the crowded population of the night bazaar were the unnecessary merchandise for sale for example rude t-shirts and weapons. What really made me feel frightened and out of place was when I was casually browsing through DVDs and a British woman, probably in her late 40s said ‘do not buy those DVDs!’ I turned to ask why not and saw that the lady was putting ice on her red, lumpy face. She explained to me that the store owner had punched her in the face when she tried to return the bad quality DVDs which she had purchased earlier. She had tried calling the police but they did not do anything about it. Thankfully it was time to depart from the ‘Night Bizarre’ soon after but I had a creepy feeling within me.
I personally do not think that the Night Bazaar was an appropriate activity, while I enjoyed the chance to eat at fast-food restaurants; the memory of the remainder of the trip to the market is not one that I would like to keep with me.
From the Chiang Mai experience I grew and learned about who I am as a person. I have taken new challenges that I would have never expected to take. I tried new things and got to know some amazing people. I was so grateful for the opportunity to have a break from stuffy classrooms and go to some place I have never been before. The Chiang Mai experience was most definitely an unforgettable one.
Water rafting was the most exciting activity for me^^ It was hard to raft when there were so many rocks and the speed of the water got fast, however, nobody in my group fell off our boat!!! I was so thankful to our supporter who stayed with us while we were rafting because he told us what to do not to capsize our boat.
After the rating, we went to trekking and it was the most tiring activity because we had to trek on a steep slope, and it was scorching…! However, when we got to the top o the mountain, we could enjoy the view.
It was a great trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chiang Mai was the best trip of middle school. I was so much fun and made me grow as a person in better ways. The activities i did were thai cooking, rock climbing and the artasian village. All of these activities were so much fun and i got to spend time with other people. The best activity i did was the rock climbing because i got to try something i have never tried before, and on the thursday after a tiring day before i got to chill out at the artasian village which is definitely something to keep. After that we got to go straight to the train station and Ms Estin let us order pizza to the train station, which was so much fun and obviousely my highlight of the trip was the train. This trip was definitely a memorie which i will never forget.
Overall I thought the Chiang Mai trip was really fun. On the trip, I went to the Gardens/Waterfall, Elephant Sanctuary, and the Eco-Village. At the gardens I got to see this really huge greenhouse that held tall trees, and at the waterfalls I got to swim in the current from the water slashing down. Both were great sights. Saying with all my friends at the Prem Center was another bonus. The next day I went to the elephant sanctuary, where I got to feed the elephants, bathe the elephants, and watch them and play in the mud pit. The night bizarre was massive, having so many shops with interesting things to buy. On Thursday, I went to the Eco-Village, where I learned how to build my own house. When the trip was coming to an end, we got on the overnight train, and had a joyful ride back to ISB.
