1. Why is it that the media only focuses on the negative points of Africa? For example why is it that all the movies, and books, and documentaries, are about the desert or warring parts? Is it just because of the entertainment, or are they trying to make a point?

2. Why is it that when someone says poverty, most people almost immediately? There are other countries in dire need of help for example, Bangladesh is in the same spot that places in Africa, it is overpopulted, and has many people that are dying of starvation. So even though there are other countries with poverty, why is it that Africa is the most known?

1. Why is it that Africans are always shown by the media as people who are victims of circumstance and not people who are too inept to establish a democracy?

2. With it’s sheer size and population, why doesn’t Africa compete with China in the cheap manual labor market, or is that market already too well established by countries like Vietnam and China?

3. The similarity between a country like Thailand and Africa - I know it’s not quite a question, but it’s worth looking at. Both countries plagued by countless military revolts, poverty, general third world-ness. Not to mention both are the topic of way too many CNN specials.
